Again, Microsoft tells us nothing about the fact that I needed this app somehow, or why I needed it, but somehow installing this app cleared up the 0x406 issue and let me sign in. ![]() This is where the Xbox Identity Provider app is needed. Try again later." and gave an error code of 0x406. It just told me "We can't sign you in right now. I ran into a second issue getting the Xbox app to actually let me sign in. ![]() I don't understand why it's necessary, and Microsoft doesn't tell us you have to do that anywhere, but somehow that's what I had to do. It turns out, you have to be signed in to the Xbox app to get the Xbox Accessories app to load. Install all 3 apps, then pull up the Xbox app. Xbox Identity Provider app - this is the one that I needed to fix everything, that I couldn't search for. If you sign in on that page and have the Windows Store working on your Win10 machine, it should open the app in the Windows Store when you click "Get the app" on the webpage, even if it doesn't show up in the Windows Store app search. You may also need an app that does something or the other with Xbox Live to get Xbox to let you sign in. ![]() Basically, you need to sign into the basic Xbox app to get the Xbox Accessories app to work. So you need 3 apps, one of which won't appear in the Windows Store search. Hopefully this ends up somewhere on the search results for this issue, so nobody else ends up like me, or worse, never gets it fixed.
